Line items
What it does
The line items table at the top of the order form prices the order row by row. Each row is an item, or one of its variants, with a quantity, a unit, a price, a tax and a per-line discount. Lucrii calculates the line total. Each line total is in whole cents, or the smallest unit of the order’s currency. The line totals add up to the order’s subtotal, or to its total when every taxed line is priced with tax included. With an order discount, each line total includes its share of the discount.
A purchase order shows the cost price in place of the unit price, and no per-line discount. Beside the cost price are the item’s sell price and its available, committed and on-order stock.
A line’s description, in the box under its product, can be up to 10,000 characters.
The table’s bottom row is empty. Typing into it makes it a real line, and a fresh empty row appears underneath.
An order can have up to 1,000 line items. At 1,000 the empty row goes and “An order can have up to 1,000 line items.” shows under the table. Lucrii refuses a save or a duplicate that would take an order past 1,000 lines, with the same message. Mark as Won refuses a quote over 1,000 lines too. Hermes and the other ways of adding lines meet the same limit.
Before you start
A line locks once any of its units have been fulfilled, cancelled, returned or refunded. You cannot remove or reduce a locked line. Its price, discount, tax and currency are fixed too. For more units, add a new line.
Once any line locks, the order’s currency and discount are fixed as well, so buy or sell the rest on a new order.
How to use it
- Select the Product cell on the empty row and search for an item. The search reads items, and variants as well once you have typed two characters.
- Pick one. Lucrii fills the price from the item: the cost price on a purchase order and the sell price elsewhere. Type over a cost price of zero when the item was saved without one.
- Set the quantity. Change the price, tax or discount where this order differs from the item’s figures.
- Drag a row by its handle to reorder it. Use the delete cell at the end of the row to remove it.
Items that are not active stay out of the search results. You cannot drag the empty row. A row dragged past it moves to just above it.
An order with no lines reads “No items yet” on the order page, with a prompt to edit it and add some.
