Stripe

Last updated: October 16, 2026

Who can do this: administrators and owners.

What it does

Stripe is a first-party connector published by Lucrii, free to install. Stripe’s processing fees still apply on your Stripe account.

The connector links your Stripe account to Lucrii through Stripe Connect. When Lucrii creates an invoice for a sales order, the connector raises the matching Stripe invoice. It adds one Stripe line per Lucrii line. A line bills the discounted figure and its tax rate. The connector embeds Stripe’s hosted Pay Now link in the PDF.

When the customer pays, Stripe reports it and the connector records the payment against the Lucrii order. Nobody types it into Lucrii. An hourly pass picks up anything the report missed.

Changing an order after it was invoiced amends the Stripe side.

  • A rise on an order that has been paid raises a further invoice for the difference.
  • A rise on an unpaid order reissues its Stripe invoice at the new total.
  • Either way, the customer has one open payment link.
  • A fall against money already collected goes back as a Stripe credit note. It refunds the original payment method and books the refund on the Lucrii order.
  • Cancelling an order stops its Stripe invoices collecting and credits what they took.

Card details and balances stay inside your Stripe account. Lucrii never sees a card number.

Before you start

The connection card shows a LIVE or TEST MODE badge, taken from the Stripe account you linked. A test-mode account does not collect real money.

The connector puts a discount into the amount a Stripe line bills, and notes the percentage in the line description. Stripe’s discount section is empty. The invoice shows the discounted price, with no discount listed next to it.

Disconnecting Stripe stops new invoices. Existing Stripe invoices stay as they are.

A refund you issue from the Stripe Dashboard can be credited twice. Stripe records it against the Lucrii order, but Lucrii does not count it as one it made itself. A later drop in the order total can then be credited again. Refund through Lucrii where you can.

How to use it

  1. Install Stripe from the App Store and open the installation page.
  2. Select Connect with Stripe and authorise the connection.
  3. Leave the Show Pay Now switch on, or turn it off to bill without a link, then select Save settings. The label follows the word your organisation uses for a sales order. Where that word is Invoice, it reads Show Pay Now on Invoice PDFs.
  4. Send an invoice from a sales order. The PDF includes the Pay Now link, which disappears once the invoice is paid. Quotes and purchase orders never include the link.
  5. Select View in Stripe Dashboard to open the same account in Stripe.

Troubleshooting

The card says it could not read the Stripe connection. Lucrii cannot check the connection right now, so the page cannot say whether one exists. Reload to try again.

  • Managing an installed app: Set up an installed app on its installation page, update it, reconnect it when it asks, or uninstall it.
  • Xero: Connect Xero, and the connector sends your sales orders, purchase orders and quotes to Xero and records Xero payments in Lucrii.
  • Installing an app: Read what an app does on its listing page, then install it through a consent screen that lists the permissions it needs.
