Pricing, shipping and vendor details

What it does

The Pricing card takes these fields.

FieldWhat it takes
Cost PriceWhat the item costs you
Average Cost PriceRead-only: the average you have paid per unit across received and opening stock
TaxThe tax rate applied to the item, with the amount it works out to
Compare at PriceThe higher price you show a discount against
PriceWhat you sell the item for
Purchase CategoryFree text for your purchasing accounts
Sales CategoryFree text for your sales accounts

Cost Price and Price each carry a checkbox for whether the figure already includes tax. Where one does, the item page marks it “(inc tax)“.

Lucrii works out Average Cost Price from each purchase order receipt and the opening stock an item import writes. It is the average you have paid per unit, before tax and after any discount. A 10.00 line whose price includes 10% tax averages 9.09. A price entered without tax is already the figure. Lucrii keeps the average in your organisation’s currency, so a purchase order placed in another currency converts at the rate on that order. Before any receipt or opening stock, it reads None. Reversing a receipt takes it out of the average.

Both item forms take these shipping fields. The item page shows them.

FieldWhat it takes
Shipping WeightThe item’s weight, in g, kg, lb or oz
Shipping Origin CountryWhere the item ships from
Shipping Harmonized System (HS) CodeYour customs code for the item

Vendor holds the supplier you buy the item from and their Vendor SKU. The vendor box searches your contacts. Where the supplier is not a contact yet, select Create new vendor. A short contact form opens over the item with the name you typed filled in. Select Create to save the contact and set it as the item’s vendor.

You type Product Category and Subcategory as free text.

Before you start

Lucrii shows the Shipping card only on an item marked as a physical product.

Shipping weight and the unit of measure are separate figures. An item sold by the Each still ships at a weight in kilograms. A weight with no unit shows blank.

Lucrii holds prices in your organisation’s currency, which you set in organisation settings rather than on the item.

How to use it

  1. Open the item and select Edit.
  2. Fill Cost Price and Price. Tick the checkbox beside either if the figure you typed already has tax in it.
  3. Choose the Tax rate. The item page shows what it comes to against your price.
  4. Set the vendor by typing their name and picking them from the list, or select Create new vendor.
  5. Select Save.

Troubleshooting

Average Cost Price reads None. Lucrii has no receipt from a purchase order for the item yet, and no opening stock from an item import. The figure fills in from the first receipt or the first opening stock.

  • Creating an item: Create an item from one form that takes its name, prices, stock tracking and the vendor you buy from.
  • Editing and deleting an item: Reopen an item in its form with Edit, or use More Actions to view its audit history or delete it through Trash.
  • Options and variants: Add options such as Size and Colour to an item, and Lucrii makes a variant for every combination, with a price and stock for each.
  • Changing prices on many items: Set, raise or lower the sell, compare-at or cost price of every ticked item with Change Price, and check each new price first.
  • Importing items from a spreadsheet: Match the columns of a CSV or TSV to item fields, check a preview, then create and update items in one import.
  • Items and locations: Browse two lists in Inventory, one of the items you buy and sell and one of the locations you keep them in.
